On September 8, 1985, Mr. and Mrs. Hanif’s idea of having a baby became a reality and 25 years after (on 08/09/10) their son Osama Hanif’s idea of having a blog became a reality by the grace of Allah.
Back in March this year, I first thought of having my own blog and started it on a free sub-domain osamahanif.wordpress.com when my senior SEO and blogger Shehzad Mehmood motivated me to have one. The response was very good and my blog reached Alexa traffic rank of below 400,000 from 5,000,000 in just three months. That encouraged me to pursue this idea further and launch a proper blog with its own domain.
Since I was writing on Technology at GreenTech International Ltd at that time, I wanted to feature only technology related blog posts on this blog. I asked my friends for blog name ideas. Different people came up with some very good names but I liked my buddy Ahmad Hasnain’s idea the most. And “Tech Station” came into existence.
However, soon after that, I realized that the youth, like me, loves to read about business, innovation, technology and sports. And I myself sometimes felt the absence of one blog that combines these diverse but interesting categories. So Tech Station (still hosted on sub-domain) changed to Bits Station.
In August, I purchased a domain and hosting and started the beta version of Bits Station. The older content from the sub-domain was imported and I started giving my brainchild some shape.
The header design came from a dear friend and colleague Tabish who is a great designer. Except that, all the theme customisation and development has been done by myself (I’m not a web developer so forgive me if you don’t like the layout etc.)
I want to thank all my friends and family members for their ideas, suggestions, feedback, criticism, encouragement, prayers and support. And please keep doing that as I need all of them even more now. And thank you for your patience for reading through all this.
Keep coming back for the latest, quality content on Business, Innovation, Technology and Sports and please click the “Like” button on the Facebook page and give your suggestions and feedback there. Thanks!
